Biography:
Kwai Chang Caine is the central character in the 1970s television series Kung Fu. Played primarily by David Carradine, Caine is a Shaolin monk who is forced to flee China after killing a member of the Imperial family in retaliation for the murder of his mentor, Master Po.
Raised in a Shaolin monastery from childhood, Caine is of mixed Chinese and American heritage. He possesses exceptional martial arts skills, wisdom, and a strong moral code learned through years of rigorous training. He refers to his teacher Master Po as "Grasshopper" and is guided by the teachings of Master Kan.
On the run in the American Old West, Caine seeks to evade Imperial assassins while using his abilities to help those in need.
